Places to Visit in Southwest Michigan

There are so many things to do in Michigan, and so many things to do in the Southwestern parts of Michigan alone. No matter what time of the year it is, Southwest Michigan has something for families, friends, and couples to enjoy all year round. Check out these places to visit in Southwest Michigan.

Captain Mike’s Fun Park – This is a unique family fun park that has water games unlike anywhere else. You can have water balloon fights, or drop water on your friends and family during a game of bumper boats. They have typical games for amusement including go-karts, mini golf, bumper cars, batting cages, and a game room.

Curious Children’s Museum – The Curious Children’s Museum is a place for kids to be kids, be curious, and explore. It is aimed for kids ages 1-10. It has found so much success in Southwest Michigan that there is another location right by. It is $6 per person at the Curious Children’s Museum, or $10 for both museums. This is a perfect place to visit if you are visiting with family.

The Chocolate Garden – This place offers handmade chocolate truffles, and apparently they are really delicious. The Chocolate Garden has been featured on The Food Network multiple times, and has been recognized by many magazines and newspapers. You can only get the unique truffles online or at their retail store.

Silver Beach – This beach is located in a state park in St. Joseph on Lake Michigan. There, guests can enjoy swimming, beach volleyball, and fishing. They also have concessions, playgrounds, and trails to walk on. Come on down to Silver Beach and experience what Michigan beaches have to offer.

Silver Beach Carousel – This merry go round is located at Silver Beach. This is a special carousel because it has 48 different animals to choose from. It has been recognized on TripAdvisor as a place to visit in Southwestern Michigan. It is $2 for one token to get on and ride.

Niles Haunted House Scream Park – This is the perfect place to be in Southwest Michigan throughout the month of October. It is 44 acres of scares and screams, and they create new attractions every year. Niles Scream Park is a non-profit for local charities so your screams will be for a good cause!

Karma Vista Vineyards – Visiting a vineyard is a fun thing to do with your spouse or your loved one. It is located in Coloma and it is a part of the Lake Michigan Shore wine trail. It is $5 for five samples of either red, white, or fruit wines.

Echo Valley – This is a winter sports park that has tubing and tobogganing in Kalamazoo. It is cash only and family friendly. The best price is $18 for both tobogganing and tubing. After the fun on a winter day, guests can enjoy food and relaxation allowed on the lodge and deck.

Outdoor Discovery Center – This is a non-profit outdoor education organization in Holland, Michigan. It has a North American wildlife exhibit featuring taxidermy animals, but it is also the home to different species of mammals, amphibians, reptiles, and birds. It is considered a great place to get educated on the outdoors.

The Felt Estate –This mansion is a preservation of history, and what I would consider as the Great Gatsby house in real life. Tours are available in this historical home and garden. It is such a popular attraction that people get married here.
